COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUAL THERAPY
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is approved and recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence as a therapeutic treatment for anxiety and depression.
CBT focuses on identifying patterns of unhelpful thinking and behaviour, and developing helpful coping strategies to improve psychological health.
ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on acceptance of difficult thoughts and feelings. This is combined with a focus on your individual values, and commiting to behaviours in line with these values.
ACT has been proven to be particularly beneficial for those experiencing long term health conditions.
The perinatal period covers conception up to 2 years post birth. This can be a very challenging time for both mothers and fathers.
Rhianna and Melissa have both attended further training to ensure they are able to best adapt therapeutic techniques to parents within the perinatal period.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence based treatment for working with distressing or traumatic memories.
EMDR is recommended by the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
