THE ONLINE THERAPY ROOM
ABOUT US

Hello and welcome to The Online Therapy Room. We are Rhianna and Melissa, and we have created this space to offer compassionate, specialist support for women, parents, and couples navigating the emotional challenges of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood.
We understand that the perinatal period can bring a huge range of emotions and experiences. Alongside joy and excitement, many people also experience anxiety, low mood, birth trauma, OCD, relationship difficulties or feelings of overwhelm and disconnection. You may be struggling during pregnancy, after birth, following fertility difficulties, pregnancy loss, TFMR or bereavement following the death of a child. Whatever you are facing, you do not have to go through it alone.
We have both worked as accredited psychological therapists for over 10 years within NHS services before moving into private practice. We met in 2014 whilst working together at a London NHS trust and quickly formed a strong professional and personal connection. Since then, it has always been our shared goal to create a therapy service that reflects our core values of warmth, empathy, collaboration, and genuine personalised care.
We also share a deep passion for working with perinatal clients and have undertaken specialist training in perinatal mental health. Supporting individuals and couples through pregnancy, birth, and parenthood is work we feel incredibly privileged to do. As parents and professionals we recognise how vulnerable this stage of life can feel, and we aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.
Our approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. We believe therapy should feel like a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgement, whilst also helping you move towards meaningful change and positive emotional wellbeing.
Accessibility has always been important to us, which is why we offer online therapy sessions that can be accessed from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Online therapy allows flexibility around pregnancy, childcare, feeding schedules, recovery, and busy family life, whilst also giving you continuity of support wherever you are located. We also welcome babies up to the age of 1 into the therapy session.
For those who would prefer face-to-face support. we offer in-person therapy sessions from our therapy rooms in Surbiton with Rhianna and Bracknell with Melissa.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ONLINE THERAPY
Online therapy is conducted through video call. In recent years there has been significant research into the effectiveness of online therapy vs. in person therapy. The outcome of these research studies has shown that there is no significant difference in effectiveness between online and in person therapy.
There are also significant benefits to online therapy, over traditional in person therapy. You can have your sessions anywhere you feel comfortable, and there is no travel time involved. Furthermore, you can access our support wherever you are in the world.
We have found that all of these benefits are extremely helpful in order to find the space and time to attend therapy, without this impacting on your other commitments.
We have overwhelmingly had feedback from our clients that they have found therapy with our team has made a significant difference to their lives. Below you can see a few comments from previous clients, who have all attended online therapy.
